About Hillary Baguma

Hillary Baguma is a Ugandan professional marketing leader with over 15 years of experience in brand building and growth across various industries. His expertise spans petroleum, alcoholic beverages, and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), where he has consistently delivered commercial growth, cultural relevance, and long-term brand equity. He is widely referred to as a purpose-driven leadership, strategic acumen, and committed leader of inclusive progress.

Hillary recently joined Movit Products Limited, an African leading Beauty Brand as a Category Manager, where he is mandated to translate consumer insights into strategy, driving growth and innovation within the FMCG sector.

Career Experience & Achievements

Hillary began his career at Total Energies, where he developed a strong foundation in commercial sales, strategy, route-to-market execution, and customer engagement. His work in the petroleum industry sharpened his understanding of distribution, consumer behavior, and operational marketing in complex environments.

He later transitioned into brand marketing at Uganda Breweries Limited, where he spent five years overseeing and growing a portfolio of iconic local spirits brands, including Uganda Waragi, Bond 7, and V&A Sherry. His leadership in brand campaign partnerships, renovation initiatives, and cultural positioning elevated these brands’ relevance and performance. Under his stewardship, Uganda Waragi won multiple accolades at the African Marketing Confederation Awards in Ghana, including African Brand of the Year, cementing its status as one of Africa’s most celebrated local brands.

Hillary has executed groundbreaking marketing initiatives such as Kyusa Levo, Share Your Flair, Our Bond, Our Flow, Olina Flavour, Laga Swagga, and SO UG,SO 60 which strengthened brand equity and consumer engagement. His reputation in brand transformation and market repositioning is marked by innovative campaigns that balance commercial growth with cultural impact.

His contributions to the industry have been recognized through multiple accolades, including being a 2023 Silverback Awards Marketer Nominee and serving as a judge at the Pitcher Awards, spotlighting marketing excellence across Africa.

Education Background

Among his various qualifications, Hillary holds professional Diploma in Marketing by CIM UK across marketing strategy and digital marketing certifications.

He is a Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Facilitator at Datamine Technical Business School, where he mentors aspiring marketers and equips them with practical, industry-relevant skills.
