WOMEN IN MARKETING SPOTLIGHT: PEARL ELISABETH KITIMBO

Pearl Elisabeth Kitimbo is redefining what it means to build a structured, strategic career in marketing from unconventional beginnings. With over eight years of experience, she has risen from the gig economy to leading brand and communications for some of Uganda’s most vibrant portfolios.

Pearl’s path into marketing began in social work, where she honed her understanding of people and community dynamics.

Her outgoing personality and early digital presence as “Musoga Girl” opened doors into influencing and freelance gigs. But she wanted more  not just executing campaigns but shaping them.

That ambition led her to pursue Chartered Institute of Marketing qualifications and transition into corporate brand leadership.

At Lapaire, she played a pivotal role in expanding the brand from 5 to 18 branches in Uganda.

She later joined Next Media as Brand Manager for AfroMobile, leading 360-degree strategies and representing the brand at high-profile engagements.

Today, she serves as Brand and Communications Manager at Crown Beverages Limited, overseeing Mirinda, Evervess, corporate communications, and sustainability initiatives.

Pearl’s standout project was the Mirinda x Etania partnership in April 2026. More than sponsorship, it authentically aligned Mirinda’s bold, youthful energy with Gen Z culture.

The integrated campaign spanning experiential activations, social amplification, and OOH reinforced Mirinda’s positioning as a brand that celebrates self-expression.

Pearl’s leadership philosophy is rooted in faith, openness, and trust. She believes credibility is earned through consistent performance, education, and discipline.

Her approach balances approachability with structure, ensuring teams feel safe to share ideas while maintaining accountability.

Beyond her corporate role, Pearl is committed to mentorship and community care. With her Watoto cell group, she sponsors a child and supports local initiatives.

Pearl envisions marketing becoming increasingly data-driven and technologically integrated yet still anchored in human insight.

Her personal ambition is bold: to rise beyond CMO to CEO level, regionally and internationally, proving that unconventional beginnings can lead to structured success.

Pearl hopes to leave behind a legacy of credibility, discipline, and responsible growth.

Her story inspires young professionals especially those in the gig economy, to see marketing not just as visibility, but as a platform for influence, impact, and transformation.
